GROCERY STORES & BAKERIES….
You will find a wide variety and selection of groceries in Marsh Harbour.
The stores are dependent on shipping. The ship comes to port once a week (Monday) and usually by Wednesday afternoon or Thursday, you will have a fairly complete selection of foods. Selection of foods is similar to the larger state-side grocery stores. During the busy winter months, it is best to consider the stocking of food when purchasing your groceries. People come from the Out Islands to purchase food as well. Always remember stores close earlier than in the states. Check the schedule for store hours.
MAXWELLS… Located in Marsh Harbour, (see the city map) for directions, Maxwells carry gourmet foods, frozen foods, fresh and frozen meats, and a very large variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. They have a well-stocked Deli and have prepared take-out food available.
Store Hours….Monday through Friday 8am-6pm, Saturdays 8am-5pm and Sundays 8am-3pm.

ABACO GROCERIES… Located on the south end of Marsh Harbour (close to the airport round-about), Abaco Groceries is a full service market. They are similar to a Sam’s or Costco, but also carry items individually. They have a very good selection of foods, etc.

LOCALLY GROWN ORGANIC PRODUCE…
Driftwood Food Company, located on South Ernest Dean Highway, is a hydroponic farm selling fresh produce, free range eggs, guava products and native plants. They also carry some fresh baked goods which are outstanding.

ABACO BIG BIRD CENTER Abaco Big Bird Center – Abaco Big Bird Poultry Farm is located on South Great Abaco Highway on the highway to Casuarina Point. They have expanded to takeout food services, home-made ice cream, a fresh/produce market and locally made food products such as jams, jellies and honey. Ice & gasoline is also available. They also sell the BEST locally home grown chicken in all of the Bahamas!

CHEROKEE FOOD FAIR… Located in the center of the settlement Cherokee, the store has is a combination grocery store, has souvinors, hardware, and household. Occassionally some fresh Bahamian baked goods as well. Nice selection – friendly service. Call for hours of operation.

SEAFOOD….
Abaco has an abundance of wonderful seafood available. Many times you will see local fishermen selling fresh seafood in town on the main street going into Marsh Harbour. They usually have a variety of the fresh local catch. Watch as you drive into town for the local suppliers. Fish available depends on what is in season. We have in our travels visited with locals in the settlements and many times they can direct you to the local fisherman who can provide fresh fish.
***** A & A Seafood Depot recently opened and have a wonderful selection of locally caught and imported seafoods and meats. They also plan to add locally grown produce in season. They are located on the intersection of Don Mackay Blvd & Queen Elizabeth Drive (across from Commonwealth Bank). If your travels take you to Sandy Point, stop and enjoy local cuisine at Nancy’s Seaside Restaurant & Bar. Sandy Point is known for being a local fishing community. You may find reef fish, lobster and conch. Be sure to have a cooler with you for your fresh seafood purchase. You can ask them who has fresh seafood and how to contact them. They know everyone!
Maxwells will also have local fish in the frozen meats section (center isle freezers) for a good variety of local caught and frozen fish.
LIQUOR STORES…
There are several liquor stores in Marsh Harbour and they carry a good variety of spirits.
JIMMY’S…Located in Marsh Harbour, Jimmy’s Wine and Spirits is located on Bay Street in Marsh Harbour, selling wine, spirits and cold beer Monday through Friday 10am-6pm. Closed Saturdays and Sundays.

A G WINES AND SPIRITS… A & G Wine and Spirit is operated by Abaco Groceries and supplied by Bristol. They are located adjacent to Abaco Groceries close to the Airport Round-About. They have a very nice selection of liquors, etc.

SOUVENIRS…
Kim at Abaco Ceramics has been playing in the mud since 1983. Her shop is full of wonderful local Bahamian designed ceramics which are great to take home as a gift or use in your home. They are very talented in design and the beautifully bright colors reflect the theme of the Bahamas! Their creations are truly Abaco Original!! They also showcase several other artisans work as well. It is a must stop in your tour of Marsh Harbour. They are located in the Abaco Shopping Plaza on Don Mackay Blvd., (about 2 blocks so. of Commonwealth Bank).

Tipsea Canvas is located on Queen Elizabeth Drive (in the same building as Insurance Management). They have a wonderful shop with locally made Canvas and sail bags designed by local artisians. You will find souvenirs at some of the local businesses in the settlements and in shops on the cays. Ask the locals and they will be happy to give you directions to the shops.
GENERAL MERCHANDISE…
KIDZ R US is a great general merchandise store located in Abaco Shopping Plaza. They carry a very nice supply of party goods, kids clothing, seasonal goods, greeting cards-gift wrapping supplies and a variety of adult clothing. They also carry a nice selection of water toys for the kids!
