Are you looking for a Bahamas Beach House Rental? You will find Casuarina Point to have an abundance of activities for all ages. Take time to enjoy what this beautiful area has to offer…right out your door! The beautiful turquoise water and what she holds will carry you away to a place of relaxation.
SKIFF INCLUDED!
Casuarina Sea Breeze offers for your adventure the use of a 16’ Carolina skiff. Some guests enjoy exploring the waters around the Cherokee Sound area with the small skiff. The calm shallow waters become more accessible with the skiff for those wishing to venture around the Casuarina Point and Cherokee Sound areas to fly fish, check out the Blue Holes, snorkeling and bottom fishing or explore.
FISHING…
For your fishing apparel, we suggest anglers bring light-colored long pants suitable for wear above and in the water, light colored long-sleeve and short-sleeve flats shirts, flats boots for wading, a long billed hat, polarized sunglasses, and an ample supply of sunscreen.
FLY FISHING:
Abaco is a world renowned Bone Fishing destination. Fishing for Bone Fish can be done from Casuarina Sea Breeze and the shallow waters around Casuarina Point. The incoming and outgoing tides provide wonderful habitat in the shallow waters of the bay. There are miles of flats to “hunt” the elusive bone fish from the beach house.
For those wishing to explore more of the island, great local guides are available for your bone fishing adventures. For more information on local guides, please email us for a list of guides and contact information.
Recently the Bahamas added a fishing license requirement for Bone Fish, Permit, Copia and Tarpin. The license and info can be obtained on the following link. https://www.bahamas.com/plan-your-trip/fishing/fishing-faq
BEACH FISHING:
The sandbar located this side of Duck Cay is a highway for fish coming in and going out with the changing of the tides. Some of the fish caught include Mutton Snapper, Trigger Fish, Grey Snapper and other tasty fish for your catch of the day meal. Frozen bait can be purchased at Maxwell’s Grocery store in Marsh Harbour in the freezer section or in Cherokee at the Gas Station (Cherokee Auto & Boat Haven). If you plan to fish, bring your fishing gear/equipment with you or you can reserve rental fishing equipment from Kevin at Island Boy Tackle & Marine. Kevin has a great selection of fishing gear, but we suggest reserving in advance…He is busy! You can contact Kevin by cell – 242-357-6670 or email islandboytackle@gmail.com
DEEP SEA FISHING:
There is great deep sea fishing out front beyond the reefs in the Atlantic. A guide for this type of fishing is a must as proper equipment and knowledge of the area is very important for a successful day on the big water. For more information on local guides, please email us for a list of guides and contact information.
KAYAKING & PADDLEBOARDING….
Kayaking & Paddle Boarding provides a wonderful opportunity to view the sea life from above and at a relaxed pace. Explore the small islands located around Casuarina Point. The kayaks also provide an opportunity to cross the deeper water to fish around Duck Cay. Be sure you secure the kayak & paddles as they will float away as the tides change! You can also take the kayaks to several of the small islands out front. Once again, be sure to secure your kayak & paddles.
SANDCASTLES & SHELLING…
A great family activity is to build a sandcastle out in front on the beach. They can be simple or as complicated as you wish! Let your imagination take you away when building your sandcastle. To enjoy your castle during your stay, build the castle up by the high tide mark.
An abundance of shells come ashore every day. The sandbar is a great place to search for treasures while walking the bar at low tide. Please remember…if it is alive, leave it in the water.
SNORKELING…
We have wonderful habitat for enjoying the coral reefs and tropical fish located in front of CASUARINA SEA BREEZE! Snorkeling off the beach can be fun for the entire family. Starfish, sea turtles, and a host of sea life can be viewed in the shallow waters out on the beach. If your plans include snorkeling on the reefs out front, we may suggest using the 16’ Carolina skiff. You may also want to bring a hand-held GPS to locate the reefs. A map of the cays will help you locate your tropical adventure when exploring the reefs and will be included in your rental packet. We would encourage snorkeling the reefs on a high tide due to the depth of the reefs. ALWAYS REMEMBER…the coral can be close to the surface. When boating up to the reefs, it is best to anchor in the sand out beyond the reef—not on top of the reefs as you will damage the delicate reef areas! NEVER touch the coral or hit the coral with the boat! We hope everyone will help in maintaining the future of the reefs while snorkeling! When you boat out to the reefs, go with a buddy and be aware of changing tides and weather. Someone MUST stay in the boat at all times! We suggest you bring snorkeling equipment with you. We usually have snorkeling gear in the toy box, but can never guarantee what is available as items do get lost. If you don’t wish to bring snorkeling gear, Kevin at Island Boy Tackle and Marine has a extensive supply of rental gear and we once again suggest reserving in advance… You can contact Kevin by cell – 242-357-6670 or email islandboytackle@gmail.com
BLUE HOLES…
Several Blue Holes are located around the back side of Casuarina Point in the Sound. A water craft is necessary to access the holes. GPS Coordinates will be available at the house in the book of information. Additional Blue Holes are located throughout the island, some of which you can walk to access the holes.
